Most significant well result in Kenya to date outside the South Lokichar Basin

Our Kenya asset consists of an exploration licence for Block 12A, covering a total area of 15,390 km2.

In early 2018 operatorship of Block 12A was transferred from Tullow to Delonex and in early March 2018 a further 2D seismic campaign commenced in Baringo, Elgeyo Marakwet and West Pokot counties.

Delonex holds a 60% in Block 12A where the Cheptuket-1 well, located in the Kerio Valley encountered significant oil shows over a 700m interval during the March 2016 drilling campaign. This is thought to be the most significant well result to date in the East African Rift outside the South Lokichar basin. Read more about our recent success in Kenya Cheptuket-1 Well Update.
